If you'd like to spend a nice weekend enjoying the nature of northern Minnesota, there are plenty of resort options to choose from. However, not all of them can be enjoyed to the fullest by everyone.

But now, there's a new resort that just opened in northern Minnesota that anyone of any ability is able to enjoy.

This new resort is fully accessible to people with disabilities. It's located in Ely, surrounded by the Superior National Forest, and on Birch Lake. It's a beautiful area!

And it's a beautiful place that everyone can visit. The Pioneer Press writes that the resort is "unique in the Northland woods for being built, from the ground up, to be fully accessible for many people with disabilities."

The place is called North of North Resort and it's owned by husband and wife Sean and Jill Leary. They live and work in Minneapolis but had decided they wanted a place of their own up north. But then they had the idea to also open up the area to others, specifically those who can't enjoy northern Minnesota the way others can.

Sean and Jill found a plot of land that they liked and purchased the 11 acres. From there built three amazing cabins from the ground up.

They also built a massive dock/boardwalk out onto Birch Lake.

The cabins are just over 1,000 sqft, sleep up to 8 people, and the main level is 100% accessible which includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room.

The dock/boardwalk is also accessible and so are the trails.

I'm so pleased that there's now an option like this in northern Minnesota! It's not cheap, but none of the resorts up north are. The average cost I'm seeing for the summertime is $550 per night.
