Going Global: Minnesota’s Bold Move to Attract Big-Screen Projects
In an effort to attract more film and TV projects to Minnesota, members from the state's film board are going international.
What Films Were Shot in Minnesota?
Several high profile movies have been filmed in Minnesota over the years, 'Purple Rain', 'The Mighty Ducks', and 'Jingle All The Way' are the most notable, but dozens of smaller movies and TV projects have also used Minnesota as a backdrop, and they hope to recruit more with this trip.

Where is Minnesota Going to Recruit Projects?
Film USA, an association of U.S. Film Commissions that includes Explore Minnesota Film, is off to London for the FOCUS Locations Show, billed as "the ultimate gathering for global content creators in film, TV, advertising, and gaming."
The show is a place for people in the industry to explore filming locations, incentives and facilities in the United States for upcoming projects.
Who Else is Joining Minnesota in London?
Minnesota will be joined at the Film USA booth with representatives from several other locations around the United States including Louisiana, Ohio, Texas, Florida, Utah, Arizona, and Hawaii.

Film USA's mission is to make that process seamless by connecting creators with film commissions that can provide hands-on support, resources, and incentives to bring their projects to life."
What Recent Movies Were Shot in Minnesota?
According to Explore Minnesota Film, more than 15 films have been shot in Minnesota since 2020, including a couple of Hallmark holiday films, 'Merry Kiss Cam' and 'Rescuing Christmas', both of which were filmed in Duluth.
