Northern Minnesota (Milaca) pizza company Heggies was not happy when Papa John's disgraced frozen pizza on Twitter and is now challenging them to a taste-off.

According to a press release, it all started a few weeks ago when Papa John's tweeted out "Frozen pizza = the pizza equivalent of a participation trophy.". The tweet has since been deleted, but that didn't stop Heggies from firing back with: "that sat in our gut like a soggy made-to-deliver pizza." Even DiGiorno joined in to defend frozen pizza:

Heggies (which is amazing frozen pizza btw) has called out Papa John's to a Great Pizza Snowdown on a yet-to-be determined date in a yet-to-be determined Minnesota location. Heggie's is giving the chain until December 31st to answer their challenge.

Heggies cleverly ended the press release with:

I do expect we’d have some sort of participation trophy for Papa John’s though, we apparently have a bunch hanging around. It’s a fitting parting gift.

Heggies Pizza is sold in Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas and Iowa. I can't wait to see where this battle goes.
