School has been in full swing and one report has the most equitable school districts throughout Minnesota.

Last year both Minnesota and Wisconsin ranked pretty well for states with the best teachers. Wisconsin came in at number 18, while Minnesota was named the 13th-best state for teachers.

The finance website, Wallethub was at again with another list. This time they went through each state to find the most and least equitable school districts. According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of the word is having or exhibiting equity; dealing fairly and equally with all concerned.

The website first scored school districts based on two metrics: average household income and expenditures for public elementary and secondary schools per kid.

St. Louis County here in Duluth came in at number 21 out of 329. Expenditures for public elementary and secondary schools per kid for St. Louis County were listed at $14,603; where income by the district was $58,810.

  2. Rothsay Public School District (Expenditures - $11,631 & income - $73,250)
  3. Lakeview School District (Cottonwood, MN; Expenditures - $11,549 & income - $73,750)

  5. Spring Lake Park Public Schools (Expenditures - $10,835 & income - $77,094
  6. Owatonna Public School District (Expenditures - $12,416 & income - $69,265)
  7. Lewiston-Altura Public School District (Expenditures - $11,437 & income - $73,859)
  8. Fertile-Beltrami School District (Expenditures - $12,314 & income - $69,236)
  9. South St. Paul School District (Expenditures - $13,480 & income - $63,861)
  10. Princeton Public School District (Expenditures - $11,101 & income - $76,464)
