The University of Minnesota-Duluth Women's Basketball program is making history this year, winning its first-ever Division II Final Four game last week against Catawba College to advance to the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship.

In that game, the Bulldogs outscored Catawba in each quarter posting a final score of 70-59. Brooke Olson led UMD with 34 points and 10 rebounds to give the Bulldogs their first-ever DII Women's Final Four win and advance to their first DII National Championship.

The UMD Women's Basketball Twitter account shared a video encapsulating the excitement of the team after their big win.

Awaiting UMD is the top-seeded Ashland University Eagles of Ashland, Ohio. The Eagles, who went undefeated this season will play the two-seed Bulldogs on Saturday, April 1 for the chance to hoist the National Championship trophy. UMD holds a 32-3 record, standing as the #2 seed in the tournament.

The 1 vs. 2 matchup will be held at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The game will be played at 2:30 pm, with pre-game festivities being held for the team and fans ahead of the big game.

The UMD Bulldogs website lays out the full schedule of events, with the team arriving at the stadium and hitting the red carpet at 12:45 pm on gameday. UMD students wanting to attend the game can request free tickets and members of the public can purchase tickets for the game here.

UMD says there will be no organized transportation for students/fans, so you'll have to find your own way to Dallas.

If you want to watch the game from the Northland (or wherever you happen to be), you'll be able to catch it televised on CBS Sports Network. This is available on streaming TV services like DirecTV Stream, Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, and YouTube TV as well as on traditional cable/satellite services.

If you're looking for it on a traditional cable/satellite service, here's where you can find it:

  • Charter/Spectrum: Channel 412 or 807 (HD)
  • DirecTV: Channel 221
  • Dish TV: Channel 158
  • Mediacom: Channel 171 or 762 (HD)

A number of local bars will have the game on Saturday as well. UMD lists watch party locations at Hoops Brewing, Tavern on the Hill, and the Kirby Student Center.

Good luck Bulldogs!
