Local Duluth Brewing Company Announces It Must Sell Or Be Forced To Close
A brewing company in Duluth's Lincoln Park has announced that it must find new owners or be forced to close its doors, which would be a shame because it's a local business that makes great and unique brews while serving a noble cause.
As stated on its website, the Warrior Brewing Company was founded by disabled veterans with the goal of producing some of the region's finest craft beer while at the same time continuing to serve the military, veterans, and first responder community.
Ever since the Warrior Brewing Company opened at 2711 W. Superior Street in May of 2001, owner and Director of Operations Matt Caple and his team have done just that. The brewing company has specialized in unique and high-gravity offerings that aren’t typically found in the local area, such as Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, Juicy Hazy IPA, and a Golden Ale brewed with locally sourced wildflower honey.
They've also provided opportunities for local non-profits serving veterans and first responders to take part in brewing with the team each month, from which a portion of the proceeds from the collaboration beer has been given back directly to the non-profit.
This has proven to be a rewarding experience for local area veterans and first responders, as well as the Warrior Brewing Company team.
Unfortunately, it seems that it will be coming to an end as early as this spring. Warrior Brewing Company made the disappointing announcement this week on their Facebook page:
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our plans to sell to a new owner or close the brewery by April. This decision did not come easily for us as this has been a dream come true to not only craft some of the finest beer in the Northland but to also give back to numerous deserving nonprofits in our region and beyond!
We cannot thank you enough for all your support and dedication to our dream for these last 3 years.
If you or anyone you know is looking to get into the craft brewing industry for pennies on the dollar with a turn-key production brewery and taproom, please send us a message or contact us at 218-721-7998.
Thank you again so much Warriors! It’s been a blast!
Perhaps all is not lost and there will be someone or business partners out there who wants to step in and continue what the team at Warrior Brewing Company began. It sounds like the future owners would be walking into a perfect setup to seamlessly continue brewing.
Until we find out if a new owner surfaces, there is still a little bit of time left time to visit Warrior Brewing Company. You can also still purchase their cool merch online.
