Scam Alert: New Sales Scam Reported In Minnesota

There are always scams going around these days, especially in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Some are very easy to fall for and come across as sophisticated.

Others, not so much. Thankfully, there are some scams that are very easy to tell are not the real thing.

The latest scam report falls into the latter, meaning it is probably easy to spot as a scam right off the bat. However, it's still good to be aware of it so you don't become a victim!

Scam Reported By Staples Police Department In Minnesota

The Staples Police Department took to social media this week to warn locals about a scam that has been reported in the area. Staples is about two and a half hours from the Duluth area.

According to their post, they are actively investigating the scam. They shared the message in hopes that people would be aware of it, spread the word and stop the scammers in their tracks. Here's how it works.

Fake Gold & Jewelry Scam Reported In Minnesota

The Staples Police Department says that scammers are attempting to sell a few fake items, including gold and jewelry. They are going up to locals all over the place, including in parking lots, gas stations and even the sidewalk.

These scammers claim to be of Egyptian descent, according to the scam report, and what they are selling is cheap knockoffs instead. You pay for these goods, you get something of lesser value and you never see them again.

If you see these scammers or come face-to-face with a scammer, do not try to confront them. Instead, call your local police department and spread the word!
