There doesn't seem to be an end in sight to all the scams going around, especially in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Now, we have another one to be aware of.

I can't lie - scammers are getting so good at this that there have been a few times I have come close to falling for one! It isn't always easy to spot one like it used to be.

One of the most recent scams was out of Wisconsin, where scammers were targeting lonely people online, love-bombing them and then scamming them out of a lot of money. How sad.

This new scam was reported in Minnesota and while it didn't happen in Duluth, it absolutely could now that this scam is out there. Be aware!

Asphalt Scam Reported In Rock County, Minnesota

This scam was reported by the Rock County, Minnesota Sheriff's Office recently, with a warning posted to all locals about this scam. According to their post, this scam has to do with seal coating driveways.

The warning stated that any company who shows up at your door from out of town and tells you that your driveway needs work done should not be used. They are likely scammers and in this case, the ruse is seal coating driveways.

What To Do If You Get Contacted Or Someone Shows Up At Your Door

First of all, the Rock County, Minnesota Sheriff's Office does state that these scammers might do the work to seal coat your driveway but the work will not be professional or passable, which is quite the twist. Either way, you are out a lot of money.

If you get contacted by one of these scammers, you are asked to contact the Sheriff's Office directly at 507-283-5000. Contact your local sheriff's office directly if this happens in your neck of the woods and spread the word to your family and friends!
