As we start to roll into the fall season in the Twin Ports, keep in mind there is still plenty going on as we turn the corner past summer.  One of my personal favorites is the Bayfield Apple Festival, but prior to that is an event that caught my attention.

The event I'm talking about advertised that it would feature cannons, muskets, hatchets, and more.  They could have stopped at just "cannons", and I would have been sold on going.

It's called the Lester River Rendezvous and 2024 marks their 25th anniversary.  The event celebrates the lifestyles of Voyageurs in Minnesota.  Besides the things that go boom, it truly is an event for the whole family.  There will be craft and food vendors, a fun zone setup for the kiddos, and musical acts.

In addition, the Lester River Rendezvous will have reenactors depicting early life in Minnesota and even hands-on experiences.  So, you might get the chance to try cooking over and open fire, tanning hides, or even hatchet throwing.

To make it even better, the event is free to attend.  The Lester River Rendezvous is on Saturday, September 28th from 10:00AM-5:00PM at Duluth's Lester Park.

Bring the whole family and take a step back in time at this great educational event that will even have cannons!
