I've purchased several concert tickets in the last year and for two of the shows, did it almost immediately when they went on sale.

The first was for Metallica at US Bank Stadium where I wanted tickets for both the Friday and Sunday night shows on what was labeled a "No Repeat Weekend".

The other set was for Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper at Xcel Energy Center which is tonight.

For both of these shows, I spent way more money than I needed to because of Ticketmaster's dynamic ticket pricing.  Basically, what they do is based on demand, they will jack up the ticket prices.

With Metallica for example, I paid $1,000 for two tickets for two nights, mind you there was around $150 in fees for each ticket, which in itself is ridiculous.  I wanted to make sure I got the seats I wanted though the day they went on sale.  About two weeks before the show I found the same section tickets within a row or two for over $150 less a ticket.  So, by waiting I could have saved $300, but ran the risk of not getting those seats.

For Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper, I paid $99.50 per ticket plus almost $30 in BS fees and for the day of the show seats in that section are $79.50 per ticket.

It's a bummer concerts have gone this route, and Ticketmaster is allowed to play this way, the price should be the price no matter the time you purchase it. If anyone wants to run for office on the platform of stopping this gouging and shady business, I'll vote for you.
