That’s according to a news release issued Friday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota. The incident occurred on Nov. 18.

The federal complaint says St. Paul Police responded to a 911 call regarding an unsolicited package that later field-tested positive for cocaine. Officers replaced the suspected cocaine with a GPS tracking device.

Later on, Homeland Security agents then observed 38-year-old Paris Jackson of St. Paul take the package from the area it was found. He then tried to bring it to a waiting vehicle but was stopped by the federal agents, court documents say.

Jackson then fled in a vehicle, which initiated a pursuit with law enforcement. That pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a St. Paul Police squad car at an estimated speed of 80mph, the news release says.

Jackson made his initial court appearance on Nov. 22. His next court date has not been announced.
