
62-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Alcohol-Involved Crash in Southern Minnesota
Belle Plaine, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcyclist lost his life following a crash with a car in southern Minnesota.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. The driver and motorcycle operator were the only people involved in the fatality.
First responders were dispatched to the deadly collision shortly after 8:45 Tuesday night.

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Scott County Rd. 7 and 235th St., which is four miles east of Belle Plane.
Authorities say the motorcycle was traveling south on the county road when it crossed the centerline, entered the northbound lane and collided with an oncoming car.
A Mayo Clinic helicopter was called to the area, however law enforcement says the motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
Authorities are describing the motorcycle operator as a 62-year-old man from Epping, North Dakota. His name has not been released.
The motorcycle operator was not wearing a helmet and may have been impaired at the time of the collision, the news release says.
A 20-year-old from Cologne was driving the car. Officials say the motorist suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Their name also has not been released.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen.
Authorities are investigating the deadly crash.
