Two Lives Lost in Two Crashes on Minnesota Roads Monday
Undated (KROC-AM News)- A pair of crashes on Minnesota roads claimed two lives on Monday.
The State Patrol responded to the first crash shortly before 2:30 p.m. and the second fatality happened around 5:30 p.m. A vehicle caught on fire in one of the crashes and the other involved a teenager driving a luxury vehicle.
The first deadly crash occurred in the Twin Cities Metro and the second happened in northern Minnesota’s Itasca County.
The state crash report for the Twin Cities crash indicates a vehicle exiting eastbound I-494 at Bush Lake Rd. in Bloomington collided with a pole and caught on fire. The male driver, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office plans to release the man’s name at a later time. No other information regarding the fiery fatality is available.

The second deadly crash occurred at an intersection on Hwy. 169 in the small town of Tactonite, which is about 10 miles northeast of Grand Rapids.
A Jaguar car traveling north on the four-lane highway collided with an SUV that failed to yield to oncoming traffic and entered the intersection to cross the four lanes, the state crash report says.
The SUV driver, described as an 87-year-old Tactonite man, lost his life as a result of the t-bone style crash. The report indicates he was not buckled up. His name has not yet been released.
The driver of the Jaguar has been identified as 16-year-old Landen Alan McGough of Nashwauk, MN. He was taken to an emergency room with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
