Valleyfair Announces 'Star-Spangled Night' Fireworks for July 4th

Minnesota’s largest amusement park, Valleyfair, is going all out to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. The park will be open all day on the 4th, so you can spend the entire day celebrating 'Merica by riding your favorite roller coasters or racing down waterslides before the big fireworks show.

While it's a big year for America, Valleyfair is also celebrating a massive milestone of its own, it's 50th year. If you head to the park on the 4th of July, you'll be able to check out some new upgrades, catch a huge fireworks show, and be there for the kickoff of a very popular food festival.

This summer marks Valleyfair's 50th anniversary season and the new owners, Enchanted Parks, have debuted some serious upgrades. The biggest change this year is the brand-new Superior Shores Waterpark.

Formerly known as Soak City, this area was expanded with 13 new slides and attractions for a total of 24 distinct water experiences. It now features two massive new zones:

Lighthouse Landing: A towering multi‑slide complex featuring three high-speed tube slides and a dual‑mat racing slide built for side-by-side competition.
Minnow Bay: A brand-new family lagoon area built specifically for junior swimmers, loaded with eight kid‑friendly slides and interactive water elements.

Valleyfair’s Juicy Lucy Festival Kicks Off 4th of July Weekend

After riding Wild Thing or racing down the water slides, you can check out Valleyfair's Juicy Lucy Festival. Running from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays (July 4 through July 19), the festival brings a backyard-party vibe to the park with a full lineup of food, drinks, and local entertainment.

Once the sun goes down, the entire park will gather together for the ultimate tribute to America's 250th birthday during Valleyfair's "Star-Spangled Night."

The sky over Valleyfair will light up at 9:45 PM on July 4th. Organizers say guests can expect a high-energy, vibrant patriotic fireworks show perfectly choreographed to an upbeat, feel-good soundtrack.

Best of all, the entire fireworks display is completely included with regular park admission, meaning you do not need to purchase a special ticket to stay inside the park for this can't-miss night show.
