The tourism industry for the state of Wisconsin just got a major boost from a Japanese YouTube Influencer who has quite the following of 368,000 followers. Three months ago Takuya George Maeda, aka George Japan,  kicked off a two-year world tour to meet his subscribers.

He is documenting his journey through short travel vlogs like the one he did about Wisconsin. Maeda was born in the United States but raised in Japan. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, he said he wants to take his followers with him as he explores all over the world.

In the video below Maeda claims that Wisconsin is so underrated. He professes his love for a Wisconsin fast food franchise which is Culvers of course and states how awesome their "butterburger" is and how it is way better than Mcdonald's. He also raves about another Wisconsin staple...cheese curds!

He also went to a county fair which would not necessarily say is a Wisconsin thing on its own but you get a good idea of American culture that is for sure. Especially the monster truck rally Some other highlights were Lake Michigan and beautiful quiet neighborhoods. Maeda was staying near Lake Geneva Wisconsin which is close to the Illinois border so I could see how this could happen.

In the video, the vlogger goes on and on about this one particular place called Edwards Apple Orchard while enjoying some apple juice and a donut. Here is where the funny part comes in. He is talking about the apple orchard and says it is in Chicago Wisconsin. Now being someone who grew up in Milwaukee that is a total insult, but this poor guy did not know he was in another state, I think it is funny actually.

Another place he stopped at during his time in Wisconsin was the home of the Green Bay Packers Lambeau field and of course, he wore a cheesehead! Maeda's Wisconsin TikTok has been viewed more than 517,800 times and has over 85,200 likes. So who knows maybe he started something for more people to come to visit Wisconsin?
