Justin Bieber laced up his skates and played in the NHL Celebrity All-Star Shootout game on Saturday night (January 28) in Los Angeles. While he was on the ice, he took a hit into the boards the internet is raving about.

The Purpose singer and longtime hockey fan announced his participation in the hockey event, which precedes the Annual NHL All-Star Game, on Saturday morning via Twitter, along with a list revealing other celebrity players, including Cuba Gooding Jr., Jerry Bruckheimer and David Boreanaz.

The shootout event benefits Echoes of Hope, a nonprofit focusing on at-risk and emancipated foster youth.
