When you hear "Ke$ha" the first thing that pops into your head probably isn't "healthy," right?  I mean, she uses Jack Daniels to brush her teeth!  Nonetheless, she's landed the cover of Self, a health and fitness magazine.  In the article she opens up about her diet and exercise routine, and why she hands out condoms with her face on it.

Here are a few highlights of the interview, which will hit newsstands on June 25th.

Ke$ha is a self-admitted party-girl image, but she admitted she also has to eat healthy and work out like most pop stars.

She said: "People think I sit around and drink whiskey all day, but I couldn't keep up on a three-month tour if I were getting hammered every night. My show is very energetic. I dance and sing at the same time and run around. Training for a tour is like training for a marathon. When I'm eating healthy and working out, it helps me stay sane and exude confidence."

On sleep: "It's a luxury. I usually try to get a good six hours, from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. When I can't sleep, I bedazzle my clothes and watch The Golden Girls. I have a bit of Blanche in me."

On dealing with the haters: "The most important thing I've done is learn to laugh at myself, and I try to do that with any negativity coming at me, too. It's hilarious how mean some people get about my silly pop songs."

On using the condoms with her face on the wrapper that she distributes at her concerts: "Yeah. I think every girl should invest in a condom with her face on it — it's super awkward and hilarious. But people think because I hand out condoms, I must be some sort of ho. That's not the case. I'm a little bit of a kissing slut, but usually I just make out and then run away."

Her workout routine: "I like to mix it up because I get bored easily. I bike, I swim and I love yoga. I also love rock climbing, which I've done since I was 16. It's meditative and great for toning your arms and back. I love to run, too. On tour, I usually get offstage around 11 p.m. with the most intense adrenaline rush, so I put my hood on — nobody ever recognizes me — hit the streets and run until I get exhausted. It's nice to get to actually experience the world and exercise at the same time."

On listening to music: "No, I like to be in nature. I've heard my music is great to work out to, but it would be douche-y if I did that. But I really love that people like to exercise to my music. I want it to bring out the wildness in everyone, and if that encourages you to be a fighter and get fit, that's great."

On her workout clothes: "If I'm running, I'm usually in David Bowie-inspired spandex pants with lightning bolts and a vintage Harley tee. And I love Lululemon sports bras, because I have big boobs, so I have to strap those babies down when I run."

On her diet: "Eighty percent of the time I watch my portions and eat veggies and lean protein. It's excruciatingly boring, but it makes my body happy. The other 20 percent of the time, I do whatever I want. It's OK to sometimes eat a ton of chocolate!"
