Kwik Trip Giving Away Free Beer In Wisconsin For A Limited Time After Technical Issues
Earlier in October, Wisconsin-based Kwik Trip fell victim to a significant technical problem that mostly impacted internal systems, but also caused major issues for their customer-facing platforms like their Kwik Rewards loyalty program and their Kwik Rewards Plus debit/credit cards.
In the days following this issue popping up in mid-October, Kwik Trip got their systems restored and began an investigation into the cause of the problem. Through the course of the problems caused by what has been determined to be a cyberattack, I have to hand it to Kwik Trip for doing an incredible job of updating their customers on the situation as they got their systems back up and running.
It would be all too easy to just focus on dealing with the problem and issue a statement when it was all resolved. Kwik Trip provided regular updates and actively worked with customers on finding ways to make good on missed deals and offers as part of their loyalty program as well as other inconveniences customers faced as a result of the issues.
One of those ways the company decided to make it up to customers appears to have stemmed from a Facebook group.
The Facebook group "Wisconsin Kwik Trip Enthusiasts" made a suggestion, saying in a post "Kind of hoping for a 'sorry the rewards app was down, here's a free beer' coupon when the app is fixed".

Well, Kwik Trip turned that wish into a reality, offering a limited-time deal for a free beer!
The deal is good for one of the following: A free Miller Lite, Coors Light, Coors Banquet 16-24 oz single or a free Bud Light or Budweiser 25 oz single. Who says there's no such thing as a free beer?
There are a couple of notes to be aware of. First off, it looks like this offer isn't available for Minnesota Kwik Rewards customers. I looked and didn't see any Minnesota freebies. I did, however, bug a Wisconsin resident coworker to see if it showed up in their Kwik Rewards coupons, and it did!
You need to be at least 21, have alcohol offers turned on in your preferences, and it should be one of your coupons if you have your address in your Kwk Rewards profile somewhere in Wisconsin. Pretty cool, huh?
The offer does expire on November 1, so you better act fast if you want to grab your free beer!
