The Lake Superior Zoo will reopen this week after being closed for months due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The zoo will open on Friday with an experience they call 'Walk on the Wild Side' and will feature an outdoor experience for visitors, including an outdoor gift shop, pop-ups, portable bathrooms, and food orders from the Safari Café to-go.

The new Zoo hours will be Thursday- Sunday from 10 AM - 5 PM and pricing will be $10 for 13 and older, $5 for ages 3-12, and 2 and under free.

The all-outdoor experience will include some changes and recommendations for visitors, including increased signage and hand sanitizing stations throughout the zoo. All staff will be wearing masks, and guests are also encouraged to wear them, also good social distancing practices are recommended as you walk around the zoo.

The zoo will only be allowing 25% of its normal daily capacity at this time and the walking paths will only go around the zoo in one direction, the paths will be clearly marked with paw prints for guests.

Certain outdoor activities and amenities like the Zoo Train, playground, and stroller rental will also be closed for now.
