Midway Road and Maple Grove Road in Hermantown Closing

If you use the intersection of Midway Road and Maple Grove Road in Hermantown, you'll need to find an alternative route for a while.

The busy intersection is closing starting on Saturday, July 7th to begin construction on a new roundabout. Maple Grove Road has been closed since mid-June.

According to the City of Hermantown, "Drivers who need to navigate through the intersection will be directed to use the posted detour. All northbound traffic will be detoured to Highway 2, Canosia Road, and Highway 194. Meanwhile, southbound traffic will be detoured to Highway 53, LaVaque Road, and Highway 2. Large trucks will be detoured over to Highway 33 and 2."

The intersection is expected to reopen by August 31st.
