The Warpcore Arcade And New Mythic Mercantile Opens In Duluth

About a month ago, I shared some fun news about a couple of new businesses coming to the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth.

Those new businesses include a Vietnamese soup & sandwich shop in the food court, a Mexican eatery called El Azteca Taqueria that just opened, and a new arcade coming to a space near the food court.

That arcade is actually part of an expansion of the retailer Mythic Mercantile, which had previously occupied a different space in the mall.

When the space where FYE used to be became available, Mythic Mercantile decided to move into the larger space to not only expand their retail offerings of vintage toys, collectibles, and other things of the sort, but also to add a retro-themed arcade too!

The arcade, called "The Warpcore Arcade", just opened recently (along with the new Mythic Mercantile in the same space), so I had to go check it out!

What's in The Warpcore Arcade?

When you walk into the space, the arcade is right near the entry, with the Mythic Mercantile retail space behind the arcade.

While I didn't count the exact number of machines, there are about 20 different arcade games that span generations.

Some of the games include Dance Dance Revolution, Crusi'n World, Tekken, NFL Blitz 99, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Space Invaders, WWF Superstars, along with pinball machines and claw games.

What to know before going to The Warpcore Arcade

For now, the machines are quarter-operated. They are working to get a custom token system online, but in the meantime, bring some quarters (just like the old days!) and get ready to have fun! There are change machines available on-site if you don't have quarters.

The staff has a couple of basic rules posted for the arcade. First and foremost, all ages are welcome, but anyone under the age of 14 needs to be accompanied by an adult.

No outside food or drinks are allowed, but a selection of candy, pop, and snacks is for sale inside the shop. Speaking of food and drinks, the staff ask that you keep beverages and food on the designated tables and off the games to prevent accidental damage.

Finally, the staff just asks for a little respect. First, respect the vintage machines. Don't shake, bang, or rock them around. Be nice to them to keep them running well. Finally, respect each other and the space. Being mindful of others, watching your language, and keeping kids (or energetic adults) from running around or roughhousing.

What's at the attached Mythic Mercantile?

Deeper into the space, behind the arcade, you'll find the retail space of Mythic Mercantile.

The shop sells toys and collectibles, action figures, vintage video games and accessories, and plenty of other fun finds that span areas of pop culture and throwback stuff.

What are their hours? Where are they located?

The arcade and retail store share the same hours, open Thursdays through Sundays, and are closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Thursdays through Saturdays, their hours are 11 am until 7 pm, and on Sundays, their hours are 11 am until 6 pm.

You can find The Warpcore Arcade and Mythic Mercantile near the food court, right next to Lids and across the hallway from Buckle and Auntie Anne's Pretzels.
