It isn't too often a knighted, award-winning rockstar rolls into Minnesota for a performance. When it does happen, it's kind of a big deal.

That's exactly what is happening for the 2026 Minnesota State Fair! Fair organizers announced today (December 9) that Sir Rod Stewart will be headlining one of the 12 nights of shows at the upcoming 2026 Minnesota State Fair.

With musical work that spans back to the 1960s, the raspy-voiced rockstar really came into the spotlight as the voice of the band Faces in the early 1970s, as well as with a wildly successful solo career that got going around the same time.

With solo hits like "Maggie May", "Young Turks", "Forever Young", and "Rhythm of My Heart", Stewart has enjoyed chart-topping success for several decades.

Joining Rod is 1980s and 1990s heartthrob singer Richard Marx, who has a pile of hits he has written for other acts, but also a successful singing career of his own.

Breaking onto the scene with his 1987 hit "Don't Mean Nothing", Marx continued his singing success through the end of the 80s and into the 90s with songs like "Hold On to the Nights", "Satisfied", and "Now and Forever".

This show is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1 at the 2026 Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. If you happen to have a fan on your Christmas shopping list, tickets for this show go on sale on Friday, December 12, via the State Fair's website.

The show itself will start at 7 pm on Tuesday, September 1. Here's a look at all of the shows that have been announced so far for the 2026 Minnesota State Fair Grandstand lineup:
