The Minnesota History Center is opening a new exhibit that will take a look at 'Prince: Before the Rain.'

The exhibit will open on September 21st and will focus on Prince's life and music before his breakout 'Purple Rain' movie and soundtrack propelled him into icon status.

The exhibit will feature the work of Prince's personal photographer Allen Beaulieu and 50 images that according to the MHC includes "album covers of “Dirty Mind,” “Controversy,” and “1999,” promotional photos of Prince and The Revolution, Morris Day and The Time, and other artists, as well as rare behind-the-scenes candids."

The special exhibit is included with the price of regular admission to the Minnesota History Center which is $6-$12.

The MHC is also hosting a special panel about Prince and his early days on October 1st with Beaulieu and special guests Dez Dickerson, guitarist for The Revolution, and Kevin Cole, veteran First Ave DJ.
