After the NFL season next year a new football league will be launching, it's called the Alliance of American Football and it's backed by former Viking Jared Allen.

Allen is reported to be supporting the league with a financial investment, while other former NFL players are joining the Alliance of American Football as advisors.

The league will play its first game on February 9th, 2019 on CBS, the league's first championship game will also be televised on CBS along with a weekly game with all other games to be broadcast on the league's app according to SBNation.com.

The brain behind the operation is Charlie Ebersol, he's the son of longtime NBC Sports executive and original XFL partner Dick Ebersol. Ebersol will get the jump on Vince McMahon and his relaunching of the XFL, which isn't expected to start until 2020.

According to reports, the AAF will have no TV timeouts, limited commercial breaks, no kick-offs and the teams will be entirely owned by the league.
