Morgan Park Middle School which has been empty since 2012 is being torn down and new townhomes will be built in it's place.

The agreement isn't finalized yet but according to an article from the Duluth News Tribune developer Aaron Schweiger said he intends for the deal to close by the end of the month. The 127,000 square foot building on 12 acres will be turned into a place that hold 120 - 150 units situated in eight and twelve plex rows.

I went to Morgan Park from 2002-2005 and it was a big part of my childhood. It's weird to see a place where friendships and memories of mine were made to be torn down, but it also wasn't the first of my childhood schools to be torn down. I do think it's a good idea and will definitely upgrade the beautiful neighborhood.
