Russian diver Natalia Avseenko decided to bare all in an attempt to tame two beluga whales who dwell in the cold Arctic waters.

Scientists believe that beluga wales strongly dislike the feeling of synthetic materials and wanted to experiment with going au natural instead of donning the traditional diving suit.

The two whales live in an enclosed part of the Arctic Sea that prevents whales and dolphins from swimming out. The sea mammals are tamed there by instructors before being transported to zoos and aquariums around the world.

Scientists hoped the experiment would allow the 36-year-old Avseenko to have a more candid and welcoming experience with the whales. She swam around with them in 29 degree water completely nude and was able to touch and frolic with them for an extended period of time.

Avesenko decided to go in her birthday suit because belugas tend to dislike having diving suits come in contact with them.

Avseenko is an experienced diver who used yoga techniques to withstand the dangerously cold water and hold her breath under water for up to 10 minutes at a time.
