October in the Northland started off on a very beautiful note. Fall colors are starting to really develop across Northern Minnesota, and a burst of energy from the sun led to several nights of Northern Lights viewing opportunities across much of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

KP Index numbers got as high as 7 during the night on Monday, reaching into a range that means overhead auroras were possible across Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin - and boy, did they not disappoint!

We got dozens of photos from listeners across the region, showing the show on the horizon and overhead, dancing over lakes and treelines, and even above towns across the region. A few people even got really creative and captured some fall and Halloween-themed images that included the Northern Lights too!
