UPDATED 10/19/2021:

The Weeknd has made changes to his 2022 Tour, which includes canceling his Xcel Energy show in January.

The reason for the cancelation this time (his 3rd by the way) is due to the fact that he has decided to do stadium only shows starting the Summer of 2022.

According to The Weeknd's social media pages, his desire is to do something bigger and special for fans that will require stadiums.

According to Bring Me The News: " New dates forthcoming. Current tickets will be refunded automatically and all ticketholders will be given priority to buy tickets for the stadium shows when they go on sale."

No word on if the tour will be rescheduled in the Twin Cities, since the only stadium would be Target Field.

If you like the razzle-dazzle of The Weeknd’s performance at the Super Bowl this past year can you imagine what his live show would be like? I for one can't even imagine how great it would be. The Weeknd had live shows scheduled for June of 2020 which was canceled and June 2021 which was also canceled because of COVID-19.

The Weeknd, whose real name is: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye and hails from Canada has become a household name over the years. He is not only a singer and songwriter but a producer as well. A true triple threat. In 2016 The Weeknd won Canada’s Juno Award for artist of the year for the second consecutive year, as well as four other Junos, including album of the year.

Coming off his 4th album called After Hours he is currently on tour in Europe and you can hear his latest single "Take My Breath " which has a cool nineties vibe to it. What some fans may not know is in 2019 The Weeknd made his feature-film debut, appearing as himself in the crime dramedy Uncut Gems, which starred Adam Sandler.

So back to the United States portion of his tour, again this will be his third attempt to put on a concert in Minnesota. The show is set for January 21 2022 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Ticket prices vary widely from $89 for the very last upper row to $1,176 apiece to be huddled up right next to the stage.

I am pretty confident that no matter where you are sitting you will enjoy an amazing show with lots of colorful backgrounds, dancers and of course music with a string of songs you know and love. To purchase tickets or for more information click on Ticketmaster website here!
