One Of The Most Famous Voices In Music History Announced Unexpected Minnesota Tour Stops
One of the all-time legends in the music industry just announced a new tour that includes three concert dates in Minnesota.
Paul Simon, who just made an appearance during the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary show with Sabrina Carpenter, is "un-retiring" from touring and will be hitting the road this year for his "A Quiet Celebration" Tour, which includes a number of intimate shows in smaller venues.
Among the early stops on Simon's tour are three nights in the Twin Cities this spring.
Paul Simon's epic career
Simon is someone who has shaped the popular music landscape over several decades, first as half of the duo Simon & Garfunkel. Together, he and Art Garfunkel had monumental hits in the 1960s like "Mrs. Robinson" and "The Sound of Silence".
Simon enjoyed solo success over the years, including hits like "Slip Slidin' Away" in the 1970s and "You Can Call Me Al" in the 1980s. Over the years, Simon has won multiple musical awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Whether you grew up during those years or you've just heard his music in movies and TV shows or covered by other acts (like this epic cover Disturbed did of The Sound of Silence), I can pretty much guarantee you know at least some of his music.
Paul's return to the stage
Simon was last in Minnesota for his farewell tour in 2018, when it looked like the legendary musician was through with large-scale live performances. On the heels of his SNL performance, he and his team announced a return to the stage, though it will be smaller and more intimate settings.

He has reportedly dealt with some healing loss in recent years, so the selection of smaller venues with the right acoustics was important in selecting where he'd play as he returns to live performances.
Where and when is Paul Simon performing in Minnesota this year?
Simon's tour kicks off on April 4 in New Orleans, but he quickly makes his way north for a three-night string of shows in the Twin Cities.
Minneapolis will be the fourth city on his tour, performing on April 20, 22, and 23 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. The shows on each of those three nights will start at 8 pm.
Tickets for the shows will have a presale on Thursday, February 20 at 10 am before going on sale to the general public on Friday, February 21 at 10 am via Ticketmaster.
