Here’s Why Pete Davidson Says Engagement to Ariana Grande is ‘So Lit’
In the world of romance, "L" may have previously been for "the way you look at me," but in the case of newly engaged couple Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande, it's for "lit."
In an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night (June 20), SNL star Davidson finally, explicitly confirmed that he and his pop star girlfriend are headed for marriage. And he put his excitement into terms only a tried and true millennial could dream up.
“I feel like I won a contest, it's so sick,” Davidson said. “It’s f------ lit, Jimmy. It’s so lit.”
Davidson added that ever since news of his relationship with Grande broke, he's been the toast of the town, and has very quickly become the envy of men far and wide — even though their praise can sometimes register as a liiiiittle bit insulting.
“It’s so funny to walk down the street because dudes are walking by,” he said. “Did you see that Derek Jeter commercial? He’s retiring and everybody tips their hat. Some dude goes up to me and says, ‘Yo man, you gave me hope,’ I was like I didn’t know I was that ugly."
"I'm a lucky motherf-----," Davidson concluded.
Davidson's unorthodox love letter comes just a day after TMZ reported that he and Grande bought a multi-million dollar apartment together in a new cutting-edge apartment complex in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood.
