A $15 million highway construction project in Texas has been shut down because a rare spider was found on the site subjecting it to the Endangered Species Act and that concerns some nearby residents.

The Braken Bat Cave Meshweaver spider was found on the  Highway 151 project prompting the Texas Department of Transportation biologists to stop the project until they can work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to "continue the project without disrupting the spiders potential habitat."

Some nearby residents are concerned about the increased traffic and safety in neighborhoods while state and federal officials try and figure out what to do about a spider.
