What started as a food fight in the cafeteria at Minneapolis South High School, quickly turned into an all out brawl with dozens of police officers called to the school.

Some students from the school have said that racial tension among 2 groups of students has started to escalate through out the year. Apparently the start, was one student throwing a milk carton at another, which led to a food fight and then into the fighting involving over 100 students.

Police had to resort to using mace to break up the fighting, as they were being pelted with objects while trying to disperse the crowd. 3 students were taken to the hospital, not related to the fight, while one teacher was taken to the hospital after being hit In the head with a bottle.

Minneapolis South High School is open today, but all the students are on lock down.
