USA Today Spotlights Minnesota in Fall Travel List

USA Today has nominated 20 destinations across the country they consider the best places to visit this fall, and one Minnesota city, already a popular autumn destination, is getting the national spotlight for both its natural beauty and small-town charm.

The nominees were chosen for their “beautiful scenery, fantastic weather, and wealth of seasonal activities and events,” and this Minnesota gem certainly checks all those boxes.

Stillwater Shines in the Fall

Stillwater, located along the scenic St. Croix River, offers trails, apple orchards, charming shops in its historic downtown, and fall events like the Harvest Fest and Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. The highlight is when the giant pumpkins are dropped from a 100-foot crane for an epic splat.

How to Vote for Stillwater

To claim a spot in USA Today’s Top 10, Stillwater will have to beat some iconic fall destinations. Voting for the USA Today Reader’s Choice awards is open until Monday, September 8, and the Top 10 will be announced on September 17.

Currently, Stillwater hasn’t cracked the Top 10. Gatlinburg, Tennessee sits in third place, Allegany County, Maryland is in second, and Mackinac Island, Michigan holds the number one spot.
