The City of Superior has some additional machine power to help with winter snow.

Superior Mayor Jim Paine posted a photo of some new snowplows that the city invested nearly $1 million to help keep the streets clean and safe during the winter months.

The new trucks are also able to spread salt faster and have the ability to spray potassium acetate, which the Mayor says, "clears ice at much lower temps and has none of the adverse impact that salt has on streets, cars, plant-life, and Lake Superior."

Paine says to have patience as the city learns the best way to use the plows and the added abilities.
