When T-Pain burst onto the music scene with his first hit "I'm Sprung", he opened a Pandora's Box of copycat artists that tried to take advantage of his signature autotune sound that he brought to the mainstream. Following years of autotuned hits, NPR has gotten the singer to drop the digitized effect and sing a set of songs in a stripped down, all-natural set.

The performance is for an NPR series called "Tiny Desk Concerts", and it will air on the network's popular show All Things Considered. In an interview with the folks of NPR, T-Pain explains people just assumed he used the computerized, corrective technique to sound good. In all reality, the singer and producer says he used autotune just to sound different.
