After a lengthy discussion among members of the Minnesota Senate on Monday, the body voted to pass the bill banning Sunday liquor sales. The measure passed by a 38-28 vote, and now moves to Governor Dayton's desk to be signed.
The Minnesota House voted Monday on the subject of eliminating the 159-year old ban of Sunday liquor sales in the state. While the measure passed the House by an overwhelming 85-45 vote, Northern Minnesota legislators were part of the minority.
Last November voters called to an end the long standing restrictions of selling alcohol and today Amity Coffee poured the first glass of beer in over 100 years.
