Minnesota Power is gearing up to Donate Vehicle Charging Stations To Businesses in Northeastern Minnesota. Powerful winds are leading to power outages around the region, with thousands of customers being impacted Monday afternoon.

The company issued a press release warning their customers in the Northland.

This outage is impacting an estimated 1,810 customers in these areas.

Crews are working to restore power in parts of Lincoln Park, Denfeld and Orr.

Minnesota Power is on the search for this year's community Christmas tree that will be lit Downtown for all to see. The tree must be a spruce or pine and be 40 feet tall.

If you have an old wood burning stove in your home or business, now may be the time to swap it out for a newer more efficient model, saving you money in the end and helping the environment.

According to WDIO the Duluth City Council approved a cap of $450.000 per year on an amendment fee for Minnesota Power. Customers will see an increase on their bill, but thanks to the council a limit was set.

If you are a MInnesota Power customer be prepared for an increase , but no word on when this will take affect.

Minnesota Power's crews continue to work hard to restore power to the tens of thousands of those left in the dark after Thursday morning's storms.

Minnesota Power is teaming up with the city of Duluth and Hartley Park as part of the Rajala Woods Initiative that will add longer living white pine and spruce trees to our beautiful city.
