The new state park offers 33 new campsites with nearly 3,000 acres and five miles of Lake Vermilion shoreline. There's lots to do like: taking a tour at the historic underground mine, go on a boat ride, cast a line on Lake Vermilion for fishing, or even hike through acres of old growth pine forest.

Reservations for the new park can be made here or by calling 866-857-2757. There is even free wifi and flush toilets and hot showers. It is worth noting that most of the campsites will be available to reserve but other sites must wait until next spring after landscaping and other park areas are completed.
