I was sent on an emergency run for peanut butter the other night.  I have 3 kids so it's a staple in our house.  I think I may have been drugged the last time I went.  I didn't realize how expensive it is now!  My usual size of my usual brand ("Choosy Moms Choose JIF." I guess I'm one of those choosy moms,) was almost $7.00.  Wish I could say that's a typo.  I happened to notice that the "other brand" I always pass over when making my choice (Skippy) was cheaper.  So I thought I'd break the habit and go out on a limb to try something new and opted for the Skippy.   Peanut butter brands have some pretty loyal followers.  It's like Coke or Pepsi.  Usually you prefer one over the other.

I put the two head to head on my English muffins last night, and here's my ruling.  While Skippy has a thicker consistency, I honestly couldn't tell the difference in taste.  Pretty anti-climactic, I know.  Sorry.  But this experiment turned this loyal JIF buyer into a "whichever one is on sale or I have a coupon for" peanut butter purchaser.
