The Minnesota Vikings are thankful today after they avoided what could have been a robbery of at least $100 million, here's the incredible story.

It all started earlier this year, when the Vikings were forced to make a decision, a decision that could have seen $100+ million walk out the door. But after weeks of evidence, the truth was finally unveiled to the world.

How The Vikings Avoided Losing $100 Million

The thief was someone that was both loved and hated by the organization and the fan base, but in the end, the team stopped him from stealing any more cash from them, but the same can't be said for another NFL team.

The Atlanta Falcons are the latest and probably last victim of veteran QB and highway robber Kirk Cousins, the team announced they have benched Cousins in favor of rookie QB Michael Penix Jr. for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Kirk Cousins Benched

The team has seen enough of Cousins as they try to fight for a spot in the NFL Playoffs, a place they haven't been since 2017. Cousins leads the NFL in interceptions, with 16, 9 of those were thrown over the last 5 games, and the team has lost 4 of its last 5 games.

The Vikings decided to pass on Cousins' pricey demands and instead decided to draft QB J.J. McCarthy and sign QB Sam Darnold to a one-year, $1 million contract. The Vikings will most likely let Darnold sign for big money with another team for next season, and move forward with McCarthy as the QB of the future.

The Vikings Are Happy This is NOT Them

The Falcons, on the other hand, signed a four-year, $180 million contract with Cousins, which included a $50 million signing bonus and $100 million guaranteed. Ouch!

Cousins has done a great job playing just good enough to earn huge contracts, enough to make him one of the highest paid players in NFL history, it's estimated that he's cashed in over $400 million in NFL contracts during his career.
