I know myself that I have gotten so lazy that I Google search just about anything. Long gone are the days where you actually have to put your brain to work or ask somebody the answer to something. Well the folks at Google decided to do a study of the most searched disease information for each state, and some of them might be a bit of a surprise.

They started by identifying the most frequently searched medical conditions on Google Trends over the past year. Their findings found the most searched condition was ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)  with nine states total looking for more information. According to CHADD-The National Resource Center on ADHD it is defined as:  Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder affecting 11 percent of school-age children. Symptoms continue into adulthood in more than three-quarters of cases. ADHD is characterized by developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.

Here is a view of what the search map looks like for the Midwest:

I must admit that I was a little surprised that Binge Drinking was listed in Iowa, I would have guessed Wisconsin for sure, but apparently Iowa comes in 4th in the country for problems with binge drinking. A sad statistic indeed. On the lighter side, what I did think was unusual is that it seems as active as most Minnesota residents are we need to get off our duffs a bit more since hemorrhoids was the most searched medical conditions.
