The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Out of the Darkness Community Walks will be holding the event on October 19 at Leif Erikson Park in Duluth. Check-in/Registration is at 9:00 am the walk begins at 10:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm.

When you participate in this walk " you help raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss."

If you raise $150 for the walk by October 19 you will receive a free t-shirt, plus they have honor beads necklaces that are all different colors, each representing why you are doing the walk. A persons mental health is finally at the forefront of peoples minds and society is slowly learning that people need to be able to feel comfortable to talk about how they feel and erase the stigma with asking for help.
