As news outlets have projected states in electoral votes, giving Donald Trump a lead in the late part of the race to the presidency, overwhelming traffic to the Canadian immigration website reportedly crashed the site for a time this evening.

Multiple news outlets, including Business Insider, reported that Canada's immigration website crashed around 9:30 central time Tuesday night, following a number of key states being called in favor of Donald Trump.

Beside an apparent spike in traffic to the website, Google searches about moving to Canada are spiking as well through the later parts of election night.

Since this crash, the website has been accessible only sparingly upon trying to access it.
