University of Minnesota-Duluth student Joe Kell teamed up with two childhood friends to make Sorcerers' Skirmish, an elemental card game and have recently launched it on Kickstarter

Sorcerer's Skirmish is a fantasy card game where you become an ancient sorcerer that has to cast spells to defeat your opponents. The game is for 2 to 4 players and the elemental spells are grass, fire, water, and chaos. Each turn there are different phases: Draw, Declare, Cast, Resolve. What I love about the game, is it's even simple enough for kids to play.

These players declared each other and the player on the left cast a water spell and the player on the right cast a fire spell. Water beats fire so the player on the left resolves the spell which was HEAL 2.

I even had the chance to play test a prototype of the game, and it reminded of if Uno and Dungeons & Dragons (nerd alert) had a baby.  It takes all the fantasy you need and is simple enough to where my kids love it too. There's enough parts in the game where you can use a strategy or play with luck.

The goal of the game is to be the last sorcerer standing. Wildflower games is looking to get $8,000 and is currently sitting at $2,700 with 18 days to go. If you're unsure about the game, you can play it for free online right here. Plus check out the video of the Wildflower team teaching the basics of the game below.
