Who Are the Top Grossing Actors from Minnesota and Wisconsin?
A good number of famous people can call Minnesota and Wisconsin their home states, but these four names top the list of box office money makers from each state.
The two male actors can attribute most of their fortunes thanks to being part of the Marvel universe, the actresses on the other hand have been working for years and have some memorable roles, but nothing as big as either of the guys, which is often the case in Hollywood, unfortunately.
Let's take a look at the guys first, just because they aren't that hard to figure out. From Minnesota and the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and dinosaur whisperer, Chris Pratt from Virginia, MN has a box office total of $11,703,425,051, being a part of Jurassic World and Marvel sure helps boost those numbers. Calling Wisconsin his home state is the Incredible Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, his box office total inches past Pratt with a total of $12,306,819,441.
The actresses are a little tricky to figure out, neither has done much in a while, but both have been in some big movie franchises. Heather Graham is from Wisconsin and she's been in Boogie Nights, the Austin Powers movies, and she was in Hangover 1 & 3, all of which made a ton of money, her total is $2,900,046,184. From Minnesota, Lea Thompson has starred in the Back to the Future franchise, Howard The Duck, and several other hits in the 80s and 90s, her box office total is just over Grahams at $3,689,048,441, most of that success due to BTTF.
This information was put together by SavingSpot, they say they used "IMDb filmographies of nearly half a million actors to calculate the total box office sales of their movies adjusted for inflation. Then, we gathered their birthplace to help us uncover every country’s top-grossing actors."
The highest grossing actor is from Wahington, his movies have made, get this, $28,753,559,405, and he would be Samuel L. Jackson. Being in massive movies like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard, and of course the Marvel franchise, it's easy to see why he leads the list.
