14th Fighter Wing 2026 4th of July Fighter Jet Flyover Schedule

America's 250th birthday is this weekend, and communities across the Northland are preparing 4th of July festivities that include parades, street dances, 5Ks, and other events, all culminating in fireworks shows at the end of the day.

A number of communities across Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin will also get an extra treat this weekend - a fighter jet flyover from a couple of F-16s from Duluth's 148th Fighter Wing.

Every year, Duluth's Air National Guard base puts a couple of F-16 Fighting Falcons in the air for a patriotic showing over communities across the region, which is coordinated through approved requests to the US Air Force's Aerial Events website.

This year's coordinated flights over the Northland include a total of 11 different cities and towns, with 9 of them being in Northern Minnesota and 2 in Northern Wisconsin.

Each of these flights includes a pair of F-16s doing a pass over the communities noted below. You can expect to see them fly over at about 1,000 feet, which, while it isn't quite as close as you'd see them at an air show, is still certainly close enough to see, hear, and feel them fly overhead.

The 148th Fighter Wing does note that these times are approximate, and that flights are also weather-dependent and contingent on any potential mission need that might pull the aircraft away to something else.
