Popular Valleyfair Waterpark Sets Opening Date For 2025
Despite the erratic weather we've been experiencing in Minnesota lately, the state's largest theme park is now open for business.
Valleyfair officially opened to the public on Sunday, May 11, and has been open on weekends since, except for one key section of the park.

Valleyfair Opens Daily for 2024 Season
Now under the ownership of Six Flags, Valleyfair is open daily starting today. The Shakopee-based theme park will remain open every day through the fall, wrapping up its season following the annual ValleyScare event.
One area of the park remains closed for now, Soak City, Valleyfair's popular waterpark. That changes soon. The park announced that Soak City will open for the season on Saturday, May 24.
Soak City is included with your general admission ticket. Given the cooler forecast (highs below 70°F for Memorial Day weekend), it might not be too crowded, perfect for those brave enough to dive in early!

Once the weather warms up, guests will no doubt flock to the wave pool, 12 waterslides, two raft rides, and a relaxing lazy river.
No New Coaster—But a Big Anniversary Is Coming
Valleyfair opened in 1976 and is approaching its 50th anniversary. While no new ride or coaster has been added this year, could that change soon? Fans are hopeful. It’s been 18 years since Renegade, the park's last roller coaster, debuted.
For now, there's still plenty of fun to be had, from thrill rides to water attractions, and who knows what surprises might be announced for next season.
