Just when you thought Minnesota's newest music venue was done adding shows for this year, another one was just added!

Mystic Lake Amphitheater just opened last Saturday (June 20) with a homegrown entertainment event to celebrate the new 19,000-capacity Twin Cities outdoor venue's first season.

Up until this announcement, the venue had a total of 40 nights of live music scheduled for its first season. Now it's 41 nights, as a 'totally rad' 80s retro show just got added to the 2026 lineup.

Mystic Lake Amphitheater announced yesterday (June 22) that The B-52s and Devo will be bringing their Cosmic De-Evolution Tour to Minnesota in September.

The show, scheduled for 7 pm on Sunday, September 20, will also feature special guests DJ Cummerbund & Transmission’s DJ Jake Rudh.

While fans of these quintessentially quirky 1980s groups know the deeper levels of these bands' catalogs, most people know Devo for their 1980 top-20 hit "Whip It" (and maybe their "energy dome hats").

Meanwhile, casual fans might know songs from The B-52s like "Rock Lobster" or "Roam", but their late-1980s hit "Love Shack" is an iconic hit heard at weddings, karaoke, and other places quite regularly to this day.

Tickets for this show are available through this week, with some presale events before tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 26, at 10 am via Ticketmaster.

I'm curious to see if there will be even more shows added to this already large roster of concerts on the schedule for this summer at Mystic Lake Amphitheater.

With the addition of this B-52s & Devo show, the count is now at 42 nights of entertainment. That includes the opening night show that happened on Saturday and two nights of Chris Stapleton at the end of July. Aside from Stapleton, the rest of this summer's shows at this Shakopee venue are one-night-only happenings.

Full Lineup for Mystic Lake Amphitheater’s 2026 Inaugural Season

A new music venue in Minnesota is launching its first season with a lineup clearly designed to make a splash. Once it opens, Mystic Lake Amphitheater will be the state’s largest outdoor amphitheater, and the acts scheduled for its inaugural year span decades and genres.
