Bayfront Warming House To Resume Regular Hours
The cold temperatures are starting to let up so the Bayfront Warming House is back open for fun.
The City Of Duluth Announced on their website and Facebook page, that the Bayfront Warming House will resume regular house today after being closed due to very cold temperatures which made it dangerous for people to be out skating. The rink closes if wind chills reach -20 degrees Fahrenheit, or if warm weather creates melted puddles on the ice. Since the weather had reached a low temperature, it was closed.
If you would like to go skating and don't own a pair of skates, you may use a pair from the warming house as long as they are available during warming house hours. The Bayfront Warming house does offer concessions on most days during the warming house hours as well.
The Bayfront rink is open the same hours as the park from 7 am to 10 pm. The Bayfront warming house is open Monday thru Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 pm.

Skating is open at some indoor rinks but by appointment and some charge a small fee.
If you are looking to do other things outside the Duluth Parks and Rec have their Sled Sheds. Free Sled Sheds are at Lincoln Park, Leif Erikson Park, and Portland Square. What you can do is borrow a sled, go have fun with it and use it for any time frame, but put it back in the shed when you are done so that others can use it. If you have a sled you aren't using or a sled you would like to buy and donate, just leave it at a sled shed for someone to use.
