According to WDIO a fire was reported at 5:50 am this morning at the Beijing restaurant on London Road in Duluth.  When the fire department arrived on scene they noticed heavy smoke billowing from the roof of the building.

The firefighters were able to gain entry into the building and knock down the fire which had engulfed the entire first floor, but the fire did not extend into the attic space. No one was injured and early damage estimates are around $100,000 for the structure and $50,000 for contents inside the building. The Duluth Fire Marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.

I am grateful that nobody was injured of course but am super bummed about the fire, this was my go to restaurant and like many people waited so long for then to open at this location. Hopefully  they will get the building all fixed up and be back up and running as soon as possible.
